To mark the international campaign of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence which runs globally from 25 November to 1 December Nano Nagle Place will play host to Trócaire’s Art and Poetry – An Emotional Journey Exhibition in our Exhibition Space and Heritage Lecture Theatre.
Courtesy of artist Marjorie Laville-Pain and Trócaire staff around the world, this exhibition explores gender-based violence at home and abroad. This event will be one of 3,700 events organised in 164 countries world-wide from a campaign which started in 1991.
Globally, women and girls face significant inequality and remain under-represented in all spheres of life. Trócaire’s work with women around the world ensures that they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives, their homes and their communities. Last year, 89,000 people were supported by Trócaire’s women’s empowerment programmes.
