Honour a Loved One with a Heartfelt Tribute at Nano Nagle Place this November– Donate Today
Nano Nagle Place will remember those who have passed through a display of crocheted hearts, uniquely created to celebrate the special differences of loved ones we so dearly miss. In November, we will celebrate their lives with a beautiful display of handmade crochet hearts mindfully placed on our remembrance tree in the beautiful garden at the centre of Nano Nagle Place. We will also publish the name of your loved one along with your shared memory on our website for the month of November during this special remembrance.
We understand how difficult grief can be and we hope this opportunity to remember your loved one, visually, on the remembrance tree will provide solace and a serene place to come and remember their legacy. We invite friends from near and far to participate in this unique tribute dedicated to those who are gone but not forgotten. In recognition of the many friends and sisters from all over the world who have deep connections to Nano Nagle, we hope our global community will appreciate this opportunity to be remembered at Nano Nagle Place, on our remembrance tree and also on a dedicated “In Memoriam” online.
Our remembrance tree is a beautiful, mature magnolia with stunning dark green foliage and white flowers in early spring.
The handmade crochet hearts will be created by our Crochet Ladies, lovely and talented participants in the Lantern Community Project. Each crochet heart will be displayed for the full month of November. To participate in this dedication ceremony, please reserve your crochet heart online or visit our Gift & Design Shop to reserve your heart in person. For those unable to attend, we will place your hearts on the tree for you
Commencing on the 1st of November 2024, the first annual remembrance ceremony will be held in Nano Nagle Place, commemorating our loved ones, with handmade crochet hearts. Our resident sisters will bless the hearts and share your memories during the ceremony. Then each of the hearts will be placed on the Nano Nagle Place Magnolia tree. All are welcome to attend, please let us know in advance on our donation form.
All donations received will go towards the funding of Nano Nagle Place. Inspired by Nano Nagle and the Presentation Sisters, Nano Nagle Place is proud to run and operate as a registered charity. Funds raised through donations, membership, our Conference Centre, and Gift Shop not only support the operation of our beloved museum and the maintenance of our unique heritage site spanning 3.5 acres, but also ensure that we continue Nano Nagle’s mission of aiding the most disadvantaged in our community. Our Community Hub Programmes, including the Cork Migrant Centre, Lantern Project, Men’s Group and Spirituality Programme benefit greatly from these generous gifts.
