Free lunchtime concert: Jayne Demakos presents a voice and harp performance of sacred music

You are invited to the Goldie Chapel at Nano Nagle Place for a free lunchtime presentation of voice and harp exploring Gregorian Chant, Hildegard von Bingen and other sacred literature.

Goldie Chapel, 13.00 on Tuesday 5th June.

The program focuses less on the historical perspective of this music and more on the experiential possibilities in sacred music.

Jayne Demakos is based in Ithaca, New York State and studied Gregorian chant with Musica Sacra: Church Music Association of America as well as through her studies in Music Thanatology (music for the dying) where Gregorian chant is part of the core repertoire. She has studied Contemplative Musicianship and Music Thanatology with Therese Schroeder-Sheker and is a candidate for certification in Music Thanatology through the Music Thanatology Association International. Jayne is a lecturer in ‘Exploring Music as Medicine’ at the Ithaca College School of Music, NY.
