“I Am A Storyteller” is a remarkable book born from a group of first-time writers at the Lantern Project, Nano Nagle Place. Under the guidance of storytelling tutor John Keating, these writers have transformed their personal experiences into a compelling collection of heartfelt, humorous, and deeply moving stories.
The book and exhibition celebrate the resilience, creativity, and spirit of Cork’s community, featuring powerful stories. Among the stories featured are Dan O’Leary’s history of Cork’s “Evening Echo Boys,” Mary O’Callaghan’s hilarious “Da the Legend,” and Joanne McCarthy’s nostalgic tale of childhood and learning to sing at Mass. Their words are beautifully brought to life with illustrations by artist William Crowley.
Their words are beautifully accompanied by illustrations from artist William Crowley.
This project is supported by Bon Secours Hospital Cork and embodies the values of Nano Nagle Place—community, creativity, and inclusion!
