Wednesday 13th Sept, 13.00 – 14.00, Heritage Lecture Space.
This is an illustrated children’s book on the life and legacy of the Venerable Nano Nagle, Foundress of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In this book, we imagine her spirit stepping down from heaven above, to walk us through experiences that guided her from a life of fanciful privilege to one helping improve the conditions of the poor and under-educated Catholics in Ireland in the 18th Century.
With sympathy, drama, humour and rich colours, this book not only celebrates the life of an extraordinary woman, it guides the reader into the present and future of the legacy she left us.
Stefan Salinas is a liturgical and studio artist, author, and illustrator, whose works adorn the interior and exterior of several churches, as well as the University of San Francisco. His books and webcomic address matters of psychology, spirituality, Catholicism, and interfaith relations.
Nanette Miller, who commissioned this book, graduated from a Presentation high school. Alongside working with Catholic Charities and other non-profits, she is an active Presentation Associate, deeply involved in the development of grants, community trusts, social justice issues, and helping spread Nano Nagle’s charism to the wider world.
Both of them live in San Francisco.
Free event, no registration required.
