Sunday 9th July, 19.00 – 21.00, Goldie Chapel, Nano Nagle Place
Michael Dabroski is an American classical musician based in Havana, Cuba.
He will make his professional concert debut in Ireland on the 9th July at Nano Nagle Place in the Goldie Chapel, Cork.
Mr Dabroski will perform the Johann Sebastian Bach Cello Suite No.1 BWV 1007 & Violin Partita No.2 BWV 1004 from his own critical editions. Mr Dabroski will also premiere his recently composed Stotesbury Suite (2023).
Dabroski states “the concert events are inspired by the direct genealogical link between the city locations of Cork and Kilkenny, and Irish ancestral roots per my mother’s family surname, Stotesbury. And, my mother will be in attendance along with a distant relative performing with me as a genealogy Orator during the Stotesbury Suite. As always I believe it is my artistic responsibility to build original music projects to support artistic expression as a means to elevate the human spirit and connect the benefits of music to the gathering of community. For these concerts I chose the music of Johann Sebastian Back for relevant and artistic reason, as this music demonstrates the technical demands of the instrument, the composition dates coincide chronologically with Nano Nagle, and the music evokes an emotional and spiritual awakening for concert listeners. Perhaps my asses new composition can be interpreted as an event capstone. I am delighted that all concert, financial proceeds benefit the mission of Nano Nagle Place.”
