About this Event
This Heritage Week, the local community is warmly invited to hear archaeologists from Corkās Rubicon Heritage presents a fully-illustrated lecture about the wonderful archaeological discoveries unearthed over two decades of fruitful work in County Cork and Cork City. With an overarching theme of āModern Routes Towards the Pastā, the engaging presentations with expert speakers will delve into the amazing heritage sites our archaeologists have revealed over the course of 20+ years of researching and digging on infrastructure projects, both large and small, designed to connect our communities and improve the daily lives of the people of Cork.
Dovetailing with the Heritage Week 2024 theme of Connections, Routes and Networks, the presentations, which will be replete with impressive photography of heritage sites and artefacts revealed by Rubicon Heritage staff, āexplore the way we are connected to each other through physical and cultural connectionsā. Many such connections, spread over the millennia, have been brought to light via Rubiconās multi-decade work on major linear infrastructure projects that have helped connect communities across Cork, like our work for Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Cork County Council on the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Project.
Generously funded by the Heritage Council and Cork City Council.
