Morning Choir Performance: St. Mary’s Treblemakers & Quinnton | Cork International Choral Festival

A rich transatlantic tapestry of sound in the stunning surrounds of the Goldie Chapel

Thursday 1st May, 11:00am | Goldie Chapel, Nano Nagle Place | Free Event

Start your day with an inspiring celebration of choral excellence as part of the Cork International Choral Festival, featuring two remarkable female ensembles from Canada and Finland in the acoustically vibrant setting of the Goldie Chapel at Nano Nagle Place.

First to perform, St. Mary’s Treblemakers — an elite high school ensemble from Ontario, Canada. This auditioned group is known for its dynamic performances and consistent top marks at national and international choral festivals. Led by visionary director Tanya Earle, the Treblemakers deliver refined and emotionally resonant music, ranging from classical to contemporary, all with remarkable maturity and precision.

Following them, Quinnton brings the rich vocal tradition of Finland’s west coast to Cork. This warm-hearted choir of 40 women, aged 20 to 75, offers a multilingual programme spanning Swedish, Finnish, English, and beyond. Under the direction of Monica Heikius, their diverse repertoire weaves folk songs, sacred pieces, and modern arrangements into a cohesive, moving performance that celebrates both tradition and joy.

This is a rare opportunity to experience two unique choral voices from across the globe sharing one historic and beautifully intimate stage.
