17.00-20.00 | A Playful Museum? | Heritage Museum | Come on down and help us rate our museum at Nano Nagle Place & learning tools on whether they are fun to play with or not!
17.00 – 20.00 | Taking Play Seriously | Goldie Chapel | We need your help! Come to our activity centre & become a researcher with the UCC Play Matters Research Group. We take play seriously. That does not mean play is not fun or is hard work- it means we study play for the sake of play, why play is important for being happy, and how to make sure play is fun for all! But we are not experts in play- we need help from PLAY EXPERTS. That means we need children to help us in our research. The activity we plan is to get your advice on play and playgrounds.Come to our activity centre and become a researcher with us!
17.00 – 20.00 | The Food Choice Machine | Good Day Deli | Good Day Deli, Nano Nagle Place and Alan Macilwraith from JCA Architects joined forces to design a “Food Choice Machine” for the Design POP festival in 2019. The aim of the Choice Machine is to educate participants about simple but sustainable food choices that are better for your health and the environment. Participants will leave learning that small changes to their own purchasing decisions collectively have big benefits for the environment.
Finally relive the Apollo 11 Mission with Blackrock Castle Observatory’s SciComm team on a guided “Moon Walk” through Cork City meeting at St. Peter’s Church at 18.30, followed by an Apollo 11 talk at Nano Nagle Place Conference Space at 19.00
